Introduction
Gun powder cannons are what most people think about
when the word "cannon" is mentioned. Gun powder cannons are extremely
powerful. Even when only a small amount of powder is used.
You should only attempt to build one if you know what you are doing.
Misuse of such a cannon can result is serious bodily injury or death.
Although these cannons are very powerful, they are very simple to construct.
The cannon that I will show how to make is a very small but powerful
cannon that shoots pennies (yes, good old pennies!!). Below is a
picture of what the penny cannon did to a fence board.
Parts
3 to 4 feet of 3/4 inch steel threaded steel pipe.
a 3/4 inch steel endcap
black powder (not smokeless powder).
model rocket ignitors or fuse.
100 ft of wire (only if your using ignitors)
9 volt battery (only if your using ignitors)
