The weight of a propellant is often useful when trying to load the gas. When loading the gas by unscrewing the end cap it is useful to know which way to hold the gun. For example, you would want to point the barrel of the gun down when loading a gas such as propane because it is heavier than air.
| Gas | grams/mole |
|---|---|
| Air | 29.0 |
| Propane | 42.1 |
| Butane | 58.1 |
| Oxygen | 32.0 |
